The E&I Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of all electrical and instrumentation systems across the field. The role requires a strong technical background in process instrumentation, electrical systems, and control systems such as PLCs, DCS, and field analyzers. The position also involves ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety practices while maintaining high reliability and operational efficiency of all E&I assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle, calibrate, and troubleshoot sales gas metering equipment including orifice meter runs, Barton chart recorders, gas chromatographs, flow computers, and moisture analyzers.
  • Manage installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of gas chromatographs, flow computers, and moisture analyzers.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and DCS systems associated with Dehydration Units, HCDPU, and Condensate Stabilization Systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in both pneumatic and electrical instrumentation systems.
  • Carry out troubleshooting and maintenance of plant electrical systems.
  • Manage and maintain power generation and electrical distribution systems for both plant and residential areas.
  • Perform load management and ensure efficient power utilization.
  • Develop and interpret complex electrical and instrumentation drawings such as Single Line Diagrams, E/I plans, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and schematics.
  • Prepare cable schedules, junction box details, and interconnecting wiring diagrams for PLC-based systems.
  • Design and prepare layouts for instruments and instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and instrumentation design codes and standards.
  • Apply and continuously improve standardized designs, processes, and tools for monitoring and reporting of E&I systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for all electrical and pneumatic instruments.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and verify maintenance activities to ensure timely execution.
  • Identify, record, and resolve any E&I service quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are properly implemented.
  • Oversee repair, overhaul, calibration, and scheduled testing of E&I equipment and safety controls as per manufacturer manuals and engineering standards.
  • Supervise maintenance teams to ensure proper execution of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities for process instruments, controllers, safety systems, and communication systems.
  • Ensure quality control in calibration and maintenance of all sales gas metering equipment.
  • Train, guide, and support subordinates to enhance technical competence and safety awareness within the E&I team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong practical experience with process control instrumentation, electrical systems, and industrial analyzers.
  • Hands-on experience with systems (installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance).
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety practices.

  • Excellent knowledge of metering, control, and safety systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and instrumentation drawings.
  • Proficiency in maintenance planning and execution.
