Job Detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret open-hole and cased-hole wireline and LWD data to determine lithology, porosity, permeability, hydrocarbon saturation, and fluid contacts.
  • Integrate petrophysical interpretations with geological, geophysical, and reservoir engineering data to develop robust reservoir models.
  • Provide real-time petrophysical support during drilling operations and advise on data acquisition programs (logging suites, core, MDT/RCI, etc.).
  • Design and evaluate core analysis and SCAL programs, and integrate laboratory results into reservoir models.
  • Generate petrophysical input for volumetric estimates, static models, and reserves/resource classification (SPE-PRMS).
  • Evaluate formation evaluation tool performance and recommend new technologies or workflows to improve data quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (geoscience, drilling, reservoir, production) to support field development planning and reservoir management.
  • Prepare and present petrophysical evaluations, interpretations, and recommendations to management and partners.
  • Maintain data integrity, documentation, and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, Physics, or related field.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in petrophysical interpretation within an E&P environment.
  • Proven experience in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
  • Strong background in formation evaluation for exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
  • Experience with integrated subsurface interpretation workflows.
  • Proficient in industry-standard software’s.
  • Solid understanding of well log theory, tool responses, and log quality control.
  • Experience with NMR, image logs, and advanced logging tools.
  • Familiarity with rock typing, SCAL data interpretation, and saturation-height modeling.
  • Understanding of reservoir characterization workflows and integration into geo-modelling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communicator with ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and adaptable in a multidisciplinary environment.
