Position Purpose

Responsible for the safe and reliable operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and first-line maintenance of Ajax integral engine-compressor units to ensure continuous and efficient compressor availability.

Key Job Responsibilities/JD

• Safely start, operate, monitor, unload, and shut down Ajax DPC-2802-LE integral engine-compressor units.
• Monitor and record critical operating parameters including suction/discharge pressure, RPM, temperatures, vibration, lubrication, and cooling-water parameters.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain suction/discharge valves, packing systems, lubrication systems, fuel-gas systems, ignition systems, governors, and cooling systems.
• Diagnose and respond to compressor alarms, trips, under speed conditions, overheating, abnormal vibration, ignition failures, and other operational abnormalities.
• Must know the complete troubleshooting of Ajax compressor DPC-2802-LE
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance including valve replacement/overhaul, packing replacement, filter changes, spark-plug inspection, lubrication-system checks, and basic engine/compressor maintenance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot force-feed lubrication systems, including lubricator pumps and cylinder/packing feed rates.
• Maintain and troubleshoot jacket-water cooling and radiator systems to prevent overheating and high-temperature trips.
• Perform first-line electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, including speed sensors, alarms, shutdown systems, pressure/temperature instruments, and control panels.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment manuals, operating procedures, and technical drawings.
• Respond to compressor emergencies and shutdowns and assist in identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate operating logs, inspection records, maintenance records, and shift handover reports.
• Coordinate with Control Room, Mechanical, E&I, Process, and HSE teams for safe and reliable compressor operation.
• Strictly comply with company HSE procedures, PTW, LOTO, and safe operating practices.

Qualification & Experience

• DAE Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation or equivalent technical qualification.
• 7-10 years of relevant hands-on experience in operation and maintenance of reciprocating compressors, gas engines, or similar rotating equipment.
• Practical experience with Ajax/Cooper integral engine compressors, particularly DPC-series / DPC-2802-LE, will be highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, engine, lubrication, cooling, ignition, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
• Ability to work independently in a gas-field/production environment and respond effectively to equipment abnormalities and emergencies.
• Must have knowledge and experience of top end and major overhauling of compressor.
